Mavericks, Gophers both will go to Fargo Regional

(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota men’s hockey team will open the N-C-A-A Tournament Thursday night against U-Mass in Fargo, North Dakota at 7:30 P-M. The Golden Gophers are the number-two seed in the region and the Minutemen are the third seed. Minnesota went 25-10-and-4 and won a share of the Big Ten regular season championship. Minnesota State-Mankato will be on the other side of the Fargo bracket, taking on top-seeded Western Michigan on Thursday at 4 P-M. The Mavericks were 27-8-and-3 on the season and won the C-C-H-A regular season and postseason crowns. The Thursday winners will faceoff on Saturday in Fargo with a Frozen Four berth on the line.
