Mayer Lutheran coach honored for 800 wins
Mayer Lutheran high school volleyball coach Joelle Grimsley was recognized at the Tuesday, October 15 Mayer Lutheran volleyball game for her inclusion in an elite group! According to the MN Volleyball Coaches Association, only four MN volleyball coaches are members of the Win Club 800, signifying 800 or more career wins. The October 15 victory over Bethlehem Academy gave Coach Grimsley 832 victories in her career.
October 15 was also senior night, with recognition given to our two senior VB players, Mari Buhr and Marley Martin. After the match, Crusader volleyball alumni gathered for a group photo with Coach Grimsley. Coach Grimsley is in her 29 th year of coaching volleyball at Mayer Lutheran. Her career record is 836 wins and 263 losses, with 11 conference championships, 14 section championships, and three state Class A titles during her tenure. “While her success on the court is unquestioned,” says Mayer Lutheran Activities Director Kris Gustin, “Coach Grimsley’s impact off the court is equally impressive. Her desire to see her players grow as young women parallels her desire to see them grow as players, and she exerts great effort in team activities that help forge relationships and strengthen the faith of her players.”
