McCarthy Dealing With Sore Knee
(Eagan, MN) — The injury bug has hit the Minnesota Vikings. Rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy was held out of last night’s “Monday Night Football” practice at TCO Stadium in Eagan.
Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters that McCarthy is dealing with some soreness in his knee, adding that the decision to sideline him was done mostly out of precaution.
McCarthy passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns during Minnesota’s 24-23 preseason victory on Saturday.
O’Connell said that McCarthy is going to get more testing done on his knee before he returns to practice.
The Vikes travel to Cleveland today (Tuesday) where they will take part in two days of joint practices before facing the Browns in a preseason game on Saturday.
