McCarthy Out Indefinitely
Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed today (TUES) that 2024 first round draft pick J.J. McCarthy is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus. The former College Football Playoff National Champion was held out of Monday’s practice with what the team called knee soreness, and tests Tuesday confirmed the tear. O’Connell says there is not yet a timetable for surgery. McCarthy made his debut in the first quarter of Minnesota’s preseason game against Oakland Saturday and finished 11-for-17 with 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. A rookie out of Michigan, McCarthy was selected 10th overall in this year’s N-F-L Draft. Minnesota will play Cleveland, Saturday afternoon. Coverage begins at 2:30pm on SAM 107.3.
