McLeod County Sheriff Announces Re-election Campaign

McLeod County, MN — McLeod County Sheriff Tim Langenfeld has formally announced his re-election campaign.

In a statement, he says he’s seeking to continue his leadership and public safety initiatives in the upcoming November election.

The remainder of the statement is below;

Serving as your Sheriff has been one of the greatest honors of my career. While law enforcement has seen its share of challenges in recent years, one thing hasn’t changed — the importance of strong relationships between our office and the people we serve. That’s what keeps our community safe and moving forward.

I want to take a moment to recognize the team behind the badge. I get to work every day with some truly dedicated professionals who care deeply about McLeod County. Their commitment is what makes our work possible, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together.

My career in law enforcement began in 1994 as a part-time officer in Winsted, stepping into a full-time role the following year. I joined the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office in 1996, working my way up to patrol sergeant before spending time with the Eden Prairie Police Department. I returned to McLeod County in 2007 as Chief Deputy.

In 2020, I was appointed Sheriff by the McLeod County Board and later elected in 2022.

Our focus remains simple. Keep people safe, be transparent, and continue building the kind of partnerships that make McLeod County a great place to live.

I want to thank the citizens for their support and look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve as your Sheriff.
