Meeker County Shed/Hay Destroyed by Fire

A shed containing hay in Meeker County is a total loss after a fire was reported Saturday afternoon, north of Cedar Mills.

At just after 3:30pm, the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a structure fire in the 61000 block of CSAH 18 in Greenleaf township.

When deputies arrived, the shed and contents, owned by Kaping Farms, were fully engulfed in flames.

The fire is believed to be the result of a brush fire that worked its way to the shed.

Six area fire departments were on scene for nearly 6 hours extinguishing the fire.

No injuries were reported.
