Mets Shut Down Twins
The Minnesota Twins collected only three hits and made a pair of defensive errors during a 5-1 loss to the New York Mets at Target Field last night. Pitchers Justin Topa and Jorge Alcala each made throwing errors helping the Mets score a pair of runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings, breaking a 1-1 tie. New York’s Juan Soto hit a two-run homer and Mark Vientos hit an R-B-I double. Joe Ryan started, did not get a decision and pitched pretty well according to manager Rocco Balldelli.

Minnesota has dropped four of its past five games. New York improved to 11-5 on the year. The 5-12 Twins send Bailey Ober to the mound against the Mets tonight at 6:40 P-M.
