MINNEAPOLIS MAN SHOOTS TWO, KILLS ONE IN KANDIYOHI COUNTY
A series of violent incidents that started in Minneapolis ended in Willmar with one in custody and two people shot. Authorities say everything started around 12:30 pm when a man involved in a domestic situation on Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis fired shots from a balcony. The man fled west and ended up in Kandiyohi County where he allegedly shot a person near a home near 150th Street and Highway 7 in Lake Lillian. He continued into Willmar and then fled on foot, tried to steal another vehicle and shot a person in the head, killing that person. The suspect was arrested. Willmar Schools activated its secured response protocol and went into lockdown. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says no use of deadly force was used by the officers in apprehending the suspect. The suspect was booked into the Kandiyohi County jail on several charges including murder. The investigation is ongoing.
