Minnesota-Born Philanthropist Denny Sanford Dies at 90
Minnesota-born businessman and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford has died at the age of 90.
Sanford Health confirmed his death Saturday. Sanford grew up in St. Paul, graduated from St. Paul Central High School and earned a psychology degree from the University of Minnesota.
He later built First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard in Sioux Falls. His business success funded nearly two-billion dollars in donations to Sanford Health, transforming medical care, research and rural health services across Minnesota and the Dakotas.
Sanford’s name also appears on numerous hospitals, research centers, universities and community facilities throughout the region. Sanford Health remembrance
