MINNESOTA HOUSE BILL WOULD CHANGE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOMEONE TO WORK OR VOLUNTEER IN CHILDCARE
A Republican authored bill in the Minnesota House would change the qualifications needed for someone to work or volunteer in a licensed childcare center. Hanska Representative Paul Torkelson says the bill isn’t perfect but does help address issues facing child care in Minnesota. Torkelson says a lot of the language that governs child care is in rules and other parts of it are in statute. Childcare workers says the bill would change qualifications to work or volunteer in the childcare industry. The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in a later bill.
