Minnesota Launches Benefits Pilot for Early Educators

Minnesota has launched a pilot program intended to support and retain early-childhood educators.

The Department of Children, Youth and Families says eligible educators can receive up to 55 dollars a month for selected benefits. Options include dental and vision coverage, telehealth, teletherapy and life insurance.

The program is open to qualifying educators who work an average of at least 32 hours per week and at least eight months each year. Benefits will remain available through September of 2027 for participants who continue meeting the requirements.

Applications are being accepted through September 11th, although the program currently has a waiting list.

The benefit is not a replacement for comprehensive health insurance. Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families
