Minnesota Lynx 81-75 over Golden State Valkyries

(San Francisco, CA)  Minnesota Lynx overcame a slow start to push past Golden State on Friday night winning 81-75. Lynx trailed by 12 points late in the first half, but scored seven points in the last 40 seconds of the half to pull within five at halftime. The Lynx had a one-point lead after the third quarter, and then pushed their lead to as many as seven by the midway point of the fourth. Golden State pulled to within two points with 22.8 seconds left, but Olivia Miles hit two free throws to give the Lynx a two-score lead again.

Nia Coffey led Minnesota with 22 points, while Kayla McBride scored 17. Courtney Williams had 21 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

Minnesota Lynx have won three in a row (13-3) on the year. They return home to play Washington Mystics, Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Target Center.
