Minnesota on Record Pace for Motorcycle Fatalities

The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety announced frightening numbers on Friday. So far, the Office says there have been 37 motorcycle fatalities this year on Minnesota roads. That’s up from 24 last year at this time, and Traffic Safety Director Mike Hanson says this year is on pace for around 90 fatalities. He said Minnesota has not seen numbers like that since the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Hanson says half of all fatal accidents can be blamed on the motor vehicle driver, and the other half on motorcyclists. He’s calling on all Minnesotans to keep an eye out for one another on the roads.
