Minnesota Senators Push for Winter Heating Assistance
Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith are urging the federal government to release winter heating-assistance money as quickly as possible.
More than 100-thousand Minnesota households relied on the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program last winter.
The senators say home-heating costs are expected to increase this winter, with the average family projected to spend about one-thousand-30 dollars.
The bipartisan request asks the administration to distribute the funding before colder weather creates additional pressure for families and energy providers.
