Minnesota to Receive $2 Million in Generic Drug Settlement

Minnesota is set to receive more than two million dollars under a proposed multistate settlement with generic drug manufacturer Sandoz.

Attorney General Keith Ellison says 43 states and territories reached a 400-million-dollar settlement in principle over allegations the company conspired to inflate prescription-drug prices and limit competition.

If approved, Sandoz will pay approximately 469 million dollars in total to resolve state claims, including money paid through previous settlements with other states.

The agreement also requires internal reforms aimed at preventing future antitrust violations. It remains contingent on obtaining the required signatures.
