Minnesota Weekend Forecast: Rain Moves Through Saturday, Warmer Sunday and Monday

Northern Minnesota

Northern Minnesota will see a mix of clouds and scattered showers Saturday, with thunderstorms possible in portions of the region. Duluth is expected to remain cloudy with showers likely during the morning and a high near 69, while areas farther northwest could reach the upper 70s.

Sunday stays mostly cloudy across much of the north, with temperatures generally ranging from the upper 60s near Lake Superior to the upper 70s farther inland. Additional showers may begin developing again late Sunday into Sunday night.

Monday brings the best chance for widespread rain across portions of northern Minnesota, particularly near the Canadian border. The National Weather Service forecast for Baudette calls for showers with highs around 79 degrees.

Central Minnesota

Central Minnesota will deal with showers and thunderstorms Saturday morning before conditions begin improving during the afternoon. St. Cloud is expected to reach around 81 degrees after morning rain, while the Twin Cities should climb into the lower 80s.

Sunday looks warmer and considerably drier. Clouds should gradually give way to sunshine, with highs reaching the middle to upper 80s across much of central Minnesota.

Monday continues the warm stretch with mostly sunny skies. Minneapolis could reach around 88 degrees, with similar temperatures expected across portions of west-central and central Minnesota.

Southern Minnesota

Southern Minnesota will also have a wet start Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected through the morning in southeastern Minnesota, with Rochester reaching around 80 degrees. Winds could gust over 30 miles per hour in that area.

Sunday turns warmer with partly sunny skies and highs generally in the middle to upper 80s. Southwestern Minnesota could be even warmer, with some locations approaching 90 degrees.

Monday should be mostly sunny and warm across southern Minnesota. Rochester is forecast near 88 degrees, while southwestern Minnesota should generally remain in the middle to upper 80s.
