Minnesota Wild’s Xcel Energy Center getting a new naming rights sponsor
The Minnesota Wild’s home arena is reportedly getting a name change after the 2024-25 season.
According to Pioneer Press sports reporter Charlie Walters, the Xcel Energy Center, the longtime home of the Wild, will have a new naming rights sponsor after next season.
“The arena has had Xcel Energy, worth about $3 million per year over 25 years for the Wild, as its title sponsor,” Walters wrote in his Sunday column. “One company is said to already have made an offer to the Wild, which operates the arena, and a handful of other firms are seriously interested.”
The arena is the home of the Wild, PHWL’s Minnesota franchise, as well as the annual state boys and girls hockey tournaments. The arena has been named the Xcel Energy Center since it opened in September 2000.
