Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Claim Rate Hits Record Low
Minnesota’s workers’ compensation claim rate has fallen to its lowest level on record.
A new state report shows the number of paid claims per full-time-equivalent worker dropped 42 percent between 2004 and 2024.
Minnesota’s workers’ compensation system cost an estimated 1.7 billion dollars in 2024. That works out to 83 cents for every 100 dollars of payroll.
Medical and wage-replacement benefit costs, measured against payroll, have also fallen substantially during the past two decades.
