MLB ump Angel Hernandez to retire
(Undated) — Much-criticized Major League Baseball umpire Angel Hernandez will retire on Tuesday, per U-S-A Today. Hernandez has been umpiring M-L-B games since 1991. He last worked on May 9th, calling balls and strikes for the Chicago White Sox’s 3-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians. He sued MLB in 2017 for racial discrimination. He claimed he was not given World Series opportunities and a crew chief position because of race. According to The Athletic, M-L-B came to Hernandez about retiring and he agreed.
