MN MUSIC HALL OF FAME INDUCTS SIX NEW MEMBERS
The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame inducted six new members in ceremonies Friday night. The inductees include Johnny Mons who has worked decades behind the scenes directing many music festivals including Winstock and also working with the State Fair. Mons played bass in several country and rock bands. Mons spent time working for KNUJ and then KDUZ in Hutchinson. Winthrop native Dan Witucki went in the concertina-polka category. He had a long career fronting Dan Witucki and the Music Masters before moving to Orlando and taking up residency at Disney World. He will be playing at Bavarian Blast in New Ulm this year. Also going into the Hall of Fame were the rock band Crow, Pamela McNeill who has fronted the Fabulous Armadillos, fiddle and mandolin player Brian Wicklund, who left London, England Friday and arrived in New Ulm around 6:30 Friday evening. Also going in was Friedrich “Fritz” Otto Reuter, a long-time organist and composer who spent time as a music teacher at Martin Luther college in New Ulm over a century ago.
