MPCA Fines American Crystal Sugar Company
(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has fined American Crystal Sugar Company $12,000 for air permit violations at its Moorhead sugar beet processing plant.
The MPCA says Crystal failed emissions performance tracking stack tests on two boilers in the fall of last year.
Reports submitted by the company confirmed several emission deviations.
It occurred 121 times during 414 testing periods in the first half of 2022.
In addition to paying the civil penalty, American Crystal completed a series of corrective actions.
