MSHSL to seed Hockey and Basketball Tournaments
(Brooklyn Park, MN) — There will be some slight modifications on the seeding process for the Minnesota State High School Hockey and Basketball Tournaments next season. The Minnesota State High School League approved a measure yesterday that will allow a committee for each sport to seed all eight qualifying teams, instead of just the top five, as has been done in recent years. The change impacts the boy’s and girl’s state hockey tournament in both classes, as well as all classes for the boy’s and girl’s state basketball tournaments. In previous seasons, the top five teams were seeded with the other three teams receiving random draws for their first-round opponent. Complete seeding is also coming to volleyball this fall, as well as for football in all classes except 6-A.
