MVL Picks Up A Section Win, SESM Falls to Cyclones

MVL defeats Madelia 3 to 2, Thursday afternoon. Josh Vanderplas tossed a 4 hitter, striking out 5 to pick up the win. Other finals:

St Peter 5 to 1 over New Ulm, Redwood Valley was a 6 to 2 winner over Sleepy Eye, St Mary’s defeats GHECML/Tru 15 to 3 in 5 innings, Springfield shuts out RRC/WWG 12 to 0 and Sibley East defeats GFW 10 to 3 .

Softball finals:

st Clair/Loyola holds off St Mary’s and picks up a 6 to 3 win, New Ulm defeats St Peter 6 to 1, Springfield shuts out RRC/WWG behind Jalivia Rickert’s 1 hitter and 14 strike outs, Lester Prairie was a 15 to 3 winner over GFW and Jackson County Central was a 5 to 1 winner over Wabasso.

MVL/Cathedral Boy’s track team and River Valley Girls team wins the Tomahawk Conference Track meet in Sleepy Eye.

The New Ulm tennis team knocked out of the Section 2AA tourney with a 4 to 3 loss to Mankato West.
