2026. He was born at Mankato Hospital on March 29, 1933 to Peter and
Dolores Bertrang (Moisan). The family lived in Henderson, MN briefly before
moving to Arlington, MN.
Upon graduation from Arlington Highschool in 1951 and encouraged by his
Uncle Germain, Myron attended Dunwoody Institute in the Twin Cities for
autobody repair. He was offered a job prior to graduation, which was short-
lived due to the military draft into the US Army, where he served our country
for two years.
Thereafter, he began his career with the Green Giant Company, as a field
representative. In 1956, he was introduced to Marlene J. Kuntz by his sister,
Annmarie during a car ride back to their apartment building. On February 9,
1957, Myron and Marlene married at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in
Menahga, MN, in the middle of a blizzard. That was the beginning of their 68-
year adventure together. The couple moved to Le Sueur, MN where they raised
four children.
Throughout his life, Myron enjoyed many active hobbies including fishing,
snowmobiling, boating, traveling, bicycling, photography, and nordic skiing.
As part of his service to the community, Myron served as the area's first Civil
Defense Director beginning in 1965 which later became the Le Sueur Auxiliary
Police. He served in that capacity for over 30 years.
Myron and Marlene spent many happy years traveling and wintering for two
decades in Florence, Arizona.
In later years, he loved going to the Henderson Classic Car Roll-in with his
children and grandchildren. He and Marlene also loved “Epic Road Trips”
with “The Adventure Team.”
Myron is survived by his beloved and devoted children Mary Miller, Mark
Bertrang (Betty), Michelle Bertrang, and Mitchell Bertrang (Maureen), eight
