Napheesa Collier scores 26 and Lynx overcome Caitlin Clark’s 25-point night for 99-88 win over Fever

INDINAPOLIS, IN – In a thrilling matchup on Friday night, the Minnesota Lynx snapped the Indiana Fever’s five-game winning streak with a 99-88 victory. Napheesa Collier played a crucial role for the Lynx, scoring nine of her 26 points in the third quarter to help her team overcome a halftime deficit. Her defensive play was also significant, including a key block on Caitlin Clark’s shot.

The Lynx had trailed 50-45 at the break but surged ahead with a strong third quarter performance. After Collier’s contributions, the Lynx led 65-57 by the end of the third quarter. Indiana struggled offensively during this period, managing just three field goals.

In the final quarter, the Fever mounted a comeback, closing the gap to 81-80. However, Bridget Carleton stepped up, making three crucial 3-pointers in the final minutes to seal the win for Minnesota. Her shooting performance was instrumental in pushing the Lynx’s lead to 96-85.

Clark, who had an impressive 25-point game, continued her stellar season for Indiana, setting a franchise record for made 3-pointers in a season with 107. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston also had strong performances, scoring 23 and 20 points respectively, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

For the Lynx, Carleton finished with 16 points, and Courtney Williams added 15 points and seven rebounds. Collier also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds. Carleton’s 3-pointer to end the first half and her late-game shooting were pivotal in securing the Lynx’s victory.
