NASA Selects Minnesota State for Aerospace Workforce Hub

NASA has selected Minnesota State to lead one of seven new aerospace workforce hubs across the country.

The Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence will receive one-and-a-half million dollars over three years to expand technical education, apprenticeships and hands-on training for aerospace careers.

Training will focus on areas including welding, precision machining, robotics, avionics and advanced manufacturing. Minnesota State says the program is expected to enroll up to 2,400 students and create as many as 200 apprenticeships and internships.

Minnesota State was the only organization selected in the Midwest.
