NBC’s Chicago Fire Losing A Few Firefighters

Firehouse 51 is losing a couple firefighters next season.  If there is a next season for Chicago Fire.  It’s likely the show will be renewed but it hasn’t crossed that bridge yet.

However, what has been confirmed is the long running NBC weekly drama will not proceed with Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett after the season’s end.  The reason was cited as budgetary.

It’s possible Chicago Fire’s remaining cast members will also see another reduction in the number of episodes they appear in each season, following a similar reduction two years ago.

Kyri debuted in Season 7 as firefighter Darren Ritter, becoming a series regular in Season 9. Lockett joined the cast in Season 11 as firefighter Sam Carver and was just elevated to series regular this season.

The current season of Chicago Fire is still in production so it’s very likely Darren and Sam may get a proper ending for their characters.
