NEW ULM CITY COUNCIL APPROVES COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The New Ulm City Council approved the city’s comprehensive plan Tuesday.  It’s the first time since 2007 that New Ulm will have a new comprehensive plan.  City Planner John Knisely says the plan is looking toward the next 20 years.  There are four area plans for development in the plan.  The areas are downtown, east airport, Upper Cottonwood and northwest.  City officials expect the area plans will be ready for the June Planning Commission meeting and then they will go in front of the city council in July.  Those plans did not need to be done for the comprehensive plan to be approved.
