Nine Charged in Minnesota Medicaid Fraud Cases
Nine people are facing charges in Minnesota Medicaid fraud investigations involving more than three-million dollars in alleged losses.
Attorney General Keith Ellison says the largest case involves a Duluth psychotherapist accused of submitting 27-thousand-400 false claims for services that were never provided. Prosecutors put that alleged loss at more than two-point-two-million dollars.
A separate home-care case involves more than 675-thousand dollars in allegedly improper billing. Other charges involve personal-care providers, including allegations of neglect and financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
