NO ONE HURT IN CRASH INVOLVING HORSE TRAILER
The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office was called to a collision at the intersection of County Road 25 and 601st Avenue in Cornish Township about six miles southwest of Winthrop Tuesday afternoon shortly before 5 pm. Authorities say a GMC Sierra pickup driven by 46-year-old Melissa Annis of Gibbon and a Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 40-year-old Jared Wendt of Nicollet collided. Melissa was pulling a horse trailer with horses inside. Neither driver nor any horses were hurt. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed. A stop sign and support wires to an electric pole were also damaged. Gibbon fire and Winthrop police and ambulance all assisted at the scene.
