NON-VERBAL 8-YEAR-OLD BOY FOUND AFTER 4 1/2 HOUR SEARCH

An 8-year-old non-verbal boy reported missing Thursday night in Mankato was found after a 4 ½ hour search.   The Mankato Department of Public Safety says they were notified around 9:50 pm of a missing 8-year-old in the 100 block of Homestead Road.  Police called a Code Red to alert those in the area.  The boy was found safe near Map Drive at 2:20 am Friday morning and was taken to Mayo Health System to be evaluated as a precautionary measure.  The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and the state patrol assisted in the search.
