OLIVIA MAN HAS SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE ON CHARGES OF SHOOTING GIRLFRIEND IN THE LEG
An Olivia man has a settlement conference today (Monday) in Renville County District Court for allegedly shooting his girlfriend in the leg in Renville December 5th. 27-year-old Angle Garza is charged with two counts of second-degree assault for the incident that allegedly occurred in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative. Garza took the victim to Olivia Hospital where she was treated for the wound. The criminal complaint says Garza told police the shooting was an accident but after viewing surveillance footage from the sugar beet plant and speaking with victim, they think the gun was fired by Garza during an argument. He is also charged with stalking, threats of violence and domestic assault for allegedly threatening to shoot his girlfriend and physically abusing her and some of his own family members between September 1 and December 9th.
