One Dead In Marshall County Crash

A Karlstad woman is dead following an accident involving a semi in Marshall County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Corienne Marie Jacobson, (79) was killed Thursday afternoon when the southbound 2021 Ford Escape she was driving collided with a Northbound 2014 Western Star Semi on Highway 59 at 340th Street Northwest in Newfolden. 

Jacobson died at the scene. The driver of the semi, Robert Allan Benson, (64) of Mahnomen suffered no apparent injury. Both were wearing seat-belts at the time of the crash reported just before 1pm. 

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
