One Person Injured In HWY 59 Accident Involving A Tractor

A Bemidji area woman was injured in a traffic accident involving a tractor on Wednesday in Red Lake County. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Megan Kay Lysford (36) was injured when the northbound 2019 Jeep Compass she was driving collided with a westbound Caterpillar tractor on Highway 59 at Red Lake County Road 7 in Poplar Township. 

Lysford was taken to Thief River Falls Medical Center and treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. The driver of the Cat, a 17 year old male, suffered no apparent injury in the accident reported just after 9am. 

Lysford was wearing a seat-belt. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
