Owatonna Man Charged in Faribault Head-On Crash

An Owatonna man is facing multiple charges after an alleged drunken-driving crash that injured two people in Faribault.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jacob Charles Boyd is charged with felony and gross-misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation, along with misdemeanor D-W-I and open-bottle possession.

According to the criminal complaint, Boyd was driving a Subaru that collided head-on with a Cadillac near Riverchase Court and Willow Street Monday afternoon.

Both people in the Cadillac were hospitalized. One reportedly suffered broken ribs and a fractured sternum.

Police say several open alcohol containers were found in Boyd’s vehicle. A preliminary test allegedly measured his blood alcohol level at point-three-four-nine—more than four times Minnesota’s legal driving limit.
