Padres Sweep Twins with 8-1 Victory

The Minnesota Twins were swept in San Diego following an 8-to-1 loss to the Padres Sunday.

Fernando Tatis Junior led San Diego with four hits, including two home runs, and drove in four.

Brooks Lee supplied Minnesota’s only offense with a solo homer in the fifth inning. It was Lee’s 20th home run of the season.

Twins starter Bailey Ober allowed one run and four hits over five innings. The game was tied at one when he departed, but Minnesota’s bullpen surrendered seven runs over the final three innings.

The Twins fall to 63-and-68 and are two games behind the final American League wild-card position.

Minnesota opens a series against the Athletics in Sacramento Monday night. Zebby Matthews is scheduled to face left-hander Jeffrey Springs, with first pitch set for 8:40 P-M Central.
