Pardoning Ceremony at White House for Minnesota-raised Turkeys
(Learfield News/Washington, DC) — The National Thanksgiving Turkeys being pardoned today (Mon10am) by President Biden were raised on the John Zimmerman farm near Northfield.
Zimmerman says , “Minnesota is the number one state for turkey production, supporting over 26 thousand jobs and generating over a billion dollars in economic impact.
His nine-year-old son, Grant, announced at a ceremony Sunday in Washington, DC that the presidential turkeys are named Peach and Blossom.
Zimmerman says it’s been a special privilege to raise the National Thanksgiving Turkeys.
They will retire to Farmamerica in Waseca.
