Pedestrian Injured by Vehicle in Renville Co

A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Sacred Heart Wednesday morning.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says at just after 7:30, a 15-year-old girl from Sacred Heart had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Walnut Street and 5th Avenue.

She was taken to Granite Falls Hospital for treatment and was later released.

The Sheriff’s Office says the driver initially stopped, but then left the scene. The 16-year-old driver from Sacred Heart was later located in Granite Falls and is cooperating.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be sent to the Renville County Attorney’s Office for review.
