Pedestrian Killed Thursday in Itasca County

A pedestrian was killed in a traffic accident Thursday night in Itasca County. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Carter John Haithcock, (19) of Goodland, Minnesota was killed at Highway 169 and Highway 65 near Nashwauk. According to the State Patrol report the pedestrian was walking in the traffic lane when he was struck by a 2005 GMC Yukon driven by Cynthia Arlene Martin, (64) of Grand Rapids. 

Officials responded just after 11pm. Martin had not been consuming alcohol prior to the crash.

She was wearing a seat-belt and suffered no apparent injury.
