(NCTC By: Scott DCamp, Northland Communications) — One day after it opened the NJCAA RegionXIII Tournament with a 1-0 over North Dakota State College of Science, the Northland baseball team saw its season come to an end Friday with a 9-5 loss in 10 innings to the same NDSCS team it had beaten one day prior in the tournament’s opening game.
The Pioneers fell to 21-18 with the loss. After falling 1-0 to the Pioneers in the opening round of the Region 13 Tournament, the Wildcats reeled off three straight wins, defeating MNC-Itasca 6-3, Northland 9-5 in 10 innings, and Alexandria by a score of 9-5, to advance to the NJCAA North Plains District Tournament. That four-team double-elimination tournament will be held May 16-18 in St. Cloud, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Division III World Series.
