The 42nd Prep Bowl will be played Friday and Saturday at US Bank Stadium.
Friday Schedule:
Class A-Minneota scored six straight touchdowns to rush out to a 42 to 20 halftime lead and never looked back, as the Vikings defeat Springfield 70 to 20, to win their third straight Class a Championship. Senior Ryan Meagher led the way, rushing for 292 yards and scored a tournament record 6 touchdowns. The Vikings finished the season 13 and 0. Springfield was led by sophomore QB Parker Kuehn. Kuehn was 22 of 31 for 265 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers finished the year 12 and 1.
Class AAAA-Becker used a solid defense to shut down Totino-Grace and pick up a 24 to 8 win. Becker’s defense allowed only 152 total yards, while Becker’s offense had 283 total offense.
Class AA-Jackson County Central scored four straight touchdowns to open up a 36 to 20 halftime lead, enroute to a 42 to 26 win over Staples/Motley. Huskies running back Clay Malchow rushed for 123 yards and 3 touchdowns, QB Grant Freking threw for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Saturday Schedule:
Nine Man-Fertille/Beltrami shuts down Hills/Beaver Creeks’s offense and picks up a 20 to 8 win.
Class AAA-Stewartville raced out to a 23 to 7 halftime lead and never looked back, defeating Dassel/Cokato 43 to 22. Dylan Scanlan rushed for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Class AAAAA-Elk River rushed for 388 yards, three backs had over 100 yards, lead by Gavin Schmidt’s 123, during a 33 to 24 win over Alexandria.
