Primary Election Results for Our Area
Republican Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach easily won yesterday’s (Tues) primary election in western Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District with 65 percent of the vote to rural Kensington business owner Steve Boyd’s 35 percent. Fischbach says she’s been working for three-and-a-half years to represent the people of the 7th District.
Fischbach ousted long-time Democratic Congressman Collin Peterson in 2020. She’s up against Democrat A-J Peters this November.

In Ottertail County:
Kurt A. Mortenson Won County Commissioner District 3 with 60.75% of the vote
Sean Sullivan Won County Commissioner District 5 with 50.72% of the vote
Douglas County:
Jeff Way Won County Commissioner district 1 with 44.28% of the vote over Jesse Beaumia(23.45% of the vote) and Scot Umlauf(32.27% of the vote) .
Morris Area
By a Vote of 797 to 740, the Morris Area School Board Bond Referendum was voted yes. This means voters supported a $12.72 million school facility bond referendum to improve safety, add needed classrooms, and grounds and tennis venue improvements.
