Protect Minnesota Opposes Federal Gun-Law Lawsuit
Gun-violence-prevention organization Protect Minnesota is criticizing a Justice Department lawsuit challenging Minnesota’s firearm-purchase requirements.
Executive Director Maggiy Emery says the requirements give authorities time to conduct background checks and confirm that purchasers may legally possess firearms.
The Justice Department argues Minnesota’s permit and waiting-period system violates the Second Amendment. The lawsuit seeks to block enforcement, but no ruling has been issued.
