PURSUIT THAT STARTED IN LYON COUNTY ENDS WITH ARREST IN NEW ULM
A vehicle pursuit that started in Lyon County Friday morning ended with the suspected driver being arrested in New Ulm Friday night. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to stop a Jeep Gladiator on Highway 23 around 11 am. The driver, 30-year-old Chase David Frieze, had an arrest warrant out of Meeker County. The Jeep sped away and deputies pursued it for about 27 miles before ending the pursuit due to concerns about public safety. Around 2 hours later, Redwood County deputies located the Jeep near the intersection of County State Aid Highway 30 and 7, north of Seaforth. A perimeter was established and the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Emergency Response Unit was called to the scene. A female occupant exited the vehicle and was detained. She was taken to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Ground and air searches were conducted and no one else was located. Authorities say Frieze was arrested in New Ulm a little before 9 pm Friday. It isn’t known if he faces additional charges stemming from the New Ulm arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
