Rabid Bat Found Near Lanesboro School

State health officials are looking for anyone who may have had contact with a rabid bat found near Lanesboro Elementary School.

The bat was discovered outside the school on August fifth and later tested positive for rabies.

Officials say bat bites can be extremely small and may leave little or no visible mark. Anyone who touched the bat—or whose pet may have had contact with it—should call the Minnesota Department of Health for a risk assessment.
