Rain Aids Northeastern Minnesota Wildfire Crews

Firefighters working the July Lightning Incident in northeastern Minnesota are getting help from wet weather.

Showers and possible thunderstorms are bringing higher humidity, with some areas expected to receive close to an inch of rain.

The Jeanette Lake Boat Ramp remains closed. Drivers should also expect major delays along the Echo Trail as crews build a shaded fuel break. Waits of an hour or longer are possible.

Officials say regular smoke reports have ended and will resume only if conditions change.
