Rain Barrels Approved By County

The Brown County Commissioners approved the purchase of 30 rain barrels during their regular meeting this week. Brown County Planning and Zoning requested approval to buy the rain barrels for $81.60 and was unanimously approved by the board. The 55 gallon barrels will come with a mosquito mesh, an overflow hose, which can be linked to another barrel and a contoured spigot. The barrels will sell for $85 dollars, including tax. The county have sold more than 70 barrels since the program began in 2012, which helps reduce urban runoff.
