Rain Today, Milder Sunday Across Minnesota
September 26, 2026 | Three-day forecast: Saturday, September 26–Monday, September 28
Minnesota’s weekend begins with rain, drizzle and cool temperatures across many communities Saturday. Sunday brings warmer weather and fewer rain interruptions, although clouds will linger. The National Weather Service expects Saturday’s rain to spread from west to east, with the more substantial rainfall focused across western and central Minnesota.
Northern Minnesota
Saturday: Thief River Falls and Bemidji will see rain and drizzle, along with breezy conditions. Highs will reach approximately 60 to 62 degrees. Duluth’s forecast is quieter, with morning fog followed by cloudy skies and a high near 62. Overnight temperatures in these communities will remain in the mid-50s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy skies continue, but temperatures improve. Highs should reach 70 in Thief River Falls, 71 in Bemidji and 67 in Duluth. Sunday offers a better opportunity for outdoor activities in the northwest after Saturday’s damp weather.
Monday: Rain returns to the northwest, with periods of rain around Thief River Falls and a few showers near Bemidji. Highs fall back to approximately 62 to 63 degrees. Northeastern Minnesota has a brighter outlook, with some sunshine possible around Duluth and a high near 65.
Central Minnesota
Saturday: Rain and drizzle will keep Morris, Willmar and St. Cloud cool, with highs ranging from 61 to 63 degrees. Breezy conditions will add to the damp feel, particularly during the morning around Morris and Willmar. The National Weather Service forecasts approximately one-half to seven-tenths of an inch of rain across much of western and central Minnesota.
Sunday: Clouds remain, but temperatures rebound into the lower to middle 70s. Forecast highs include 74 in Morris, 73 in Willmar and 72 in St. Cloud. Most of the day should provide a break from Saturday’s rain, although an isolated leftover morning shower cannot be ruled out.
Monday: Expect another mostly cloudy day, with highs around 68 to 70 degrees. Morris has a chance for a few showers, while the Willmar and St. Cloud forecasts are mainly cloudy. Breezes increase in western areas, especially during the afternoon.
Southern Minnesota
Saturday: Occasional rain and drizzle will affect southern Minnesota, with Rochester’s rain expected to begin during the late morning. Highs range from 60 in Rochester and 61 in New Ulm to 65 in Marshall. Marshall will also have breezy conditions during the morning.
Sunday: Cloud cover hangs on, with a passing shower or two possible around Rochester and New Ulm. Temperatures improve to approximately 65 in Rochester, 69 in New Ulm and 72 in Marshall. The day will be milder, but not completely rain-free everywhere.
Monday: Mostly cloudy conditions continue, with highs around 69 in Rochester and New Ulm and 72 in Marshall. Marshall remains breezy, while the current daytime forecasts for these communities do not highlight additional rain.
