RAPIDAN DAM HOUSE FALLS INTO BLUE EARTH RIVER
The house on the property closest to the Rapidan Dam has fallen into the Blue Earth River. The land near the home eroded away enough from rushing flood waters to undercut the home and a portion fell into the river around 9:30 Tuesday night. Emergency Management officials are monitoring downtstream for any potential impacts. The Rapidan Dam itself is still intact and Blue Earth County officials expect it will survive the flood, which is at an historically high level. The flow rate has decreased but officials are continuing to monitor the situation and will send survey crews to the dam when it is safe to do so.
