Ravens Top Vikings 13-3 in Preseason Matchup

The Minnesota Vikings were held without a touchdown in a 13-to-3 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens Saturday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium.

J.J. McCarthy started at quarterback and completed five of ten passes for 81 yards. His biggest play was a 50-yard completion to Tai Felton, but Minnesota failed to score after reaching Baltimore’s one-yard line.

Coach Kevin O’Connell said he planned to give McCarthy more playing time but pulled him after the quarterback took several hard hits.

Will Reichard provided Minnesota’s only points with a 52-yard field goal as the first half expired.

Baltimore recorded five sacks and forced two late turnovers. Ravens quarterback Joe Fagnano threw the game’s only touchdown, an eight-yard pass to LaJohntay Wester during the third quarter.

The Vikings are now 1-and-1 in the preseason and will close the exhibition schedule on the road against Denver.
